Greenlands chess club was founded over 30 years ago, and was formely known as saint james. Over the years it has changed venues, and name, but still remains the same. There is no chess club in Birmingham like ours. If you are looking for a chess club in Birmingham to join, you have come to the right place! Greenalnds chess club has everything to offer! From free coaching for beginners, to slots in our teams to play in professional tournaments!
Many people play chess, and find it a very enjoyable game, but always have the idea they are not good enough to join a club or play in a team! This simply isnt true! There are many teams at all different levels you can play in! And challenginf yourself like this, is the best way to improve your game further. Along with our tutition to help you improve, and a weekly oppurtunity to play real, over the board chess, your game will be strong in no time at all!
Our site has much to offer, and you should look around. We have a members section, that is for members of the club, which, due to security of the content shared, is strictly for Greenlands Chess Club members. We don't want our opponents able to research our games before we face them on the board. You will be signed up and granted access to these pages, once you have signed up as a member to the club. We also have our very own chess club on chess.com, we are the only chess club in Birmingham to offer such tools! There, we play and share games together, analyse our previous defeats, and research games from the past that have been played by world champions and grand masters. That is all absolutely free to join, and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. So if you're a member of Chess.com already, why not join the club online and get involved with the discussions?
